About The Fine Art Room




The Fine Art Room is an art initiative founded and run by Mario Lautier Vella since 2017.

Meet Mario

Mario is an award-winning, cross-disciplinary artist, teacher and curator who works in Hertfordshire and London. His art practice includes drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, installation, sound, video, book arts and performance.

Since graduating in 2012 with a Masters in Art and Media Practice from the University of Westminster, he has exhibited his art across the UK and around the world. His work is held in private collections in the UK, the Netherlands, Malta, Canada, the USA and Australia.

Mario is also a qualified teacher and has enjoyed teaching since 2011. Passionate about arts education and his students, he has delivered a variety of short courses and workshops that cover a wide selection of art-making subjects and techniques.

To date he has also taught and lectured at City Lit, Bishopsgate Institute, The Affordable Art Fair, Watford Museum, The Hundred Years Gallery, Dacorum Creative Arts Hub and OPEN Ealing. He has also delivered  specialist drawing and painting courses in the UK, Venice and Malta with his aim that artists and art-lovers can come together to learn and create in a stimulating, inspiring and supportive space – welcome to The Fine Art Room.
